Dr. Russell originally hails from the bluegrass state, but has found his calling in Northwest Florida. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and then graduated from Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interests are surgery, dentistry, and general small animal medicine. Dr. Russell is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Some of his hobbies and interests include carpentry, kayaking, aquaria, camping, traveling, and beach activities.
Dr. Matyi is a graduate from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interests are surgery and emergency medicine. Charlie is an avid beach goer, kayaker and he loves to travel the globe.
Dr. Matthews is a graduate from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include feline and internal medicine. She has two cats, Mo and Smudge, and a kingsnake named Bernie. Her hobbies include roller skating, reading, listening to live music, and anything that involves the outdoors.
Dr. Keely is from Biloxi, Mississippi. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Mississippi State University in Veterinary Medical Technology, and went on to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University. She has a special interest in Integrative Medicine. Dr. Keely enjoys traveling, being outdoors and spending time with her husband Austin and her beloved animals Bowser (pictured), Cas, Zuko and Iroh.
Molly is a graduate of Pensacola State College’s veterinary technology program. She passed her VTNE test to get certified in July of 2017. She has 4 brothers and 4 sisters and has lived here in Pensacola all of her life. She adopted an adorable pup named Rocco and rescued a FIV positive cat named Tom Petty. In her spare time, she enjoys throwing board game nights with her friends, trivia nights downtown, and watching movies with her purrrfect pets and husband.
Emily joined the team in January of 2023. Emily worked hands-on with animals since she was 16. She has some college background in animal behavior and has always been geared towards behavior and health, but has done a lot of shelter/community work. She is originally from Kentucky, but has lived in 5 other states! Her biggest personal interest is canine training especially in canine sports like fly ball, disc dogs, and obedience rallys. She has a growing passion for animal health and science. Emily has 2 daughters, a dog named Dom, a cat named Mirabel, and almost always has a foster from our local rescue organizations.
Kristen has over a decade of experience in the field of veterinary medicine. She went to school for surgery technology which shows through her laser beam focus in the surgery suite. She pays extreme attention to detail which is invaluable in this field. She has 2 children and 3 cats. She enjoys metal and rock music, concerts, art, history and politics.
Matt was born and raised in Milton. Before joining us in July of 2019, he worked as a Correctional Officer. He hopes to get into the vet tech program at PSC and eventually become a Certified Veterinary Technician. He grew up with all sorts of animals, but currently has adopted 3 dogs and 6 cats! In his spare time he loves playing video games, watching anime, and snuggling up with all of his four legged kids.
Kaitlyn is an Alabama girl. She was born in Foley, and raised in Loxley. While she has been in this field for 2 years, she has learned a lot in a very short time. She became a veterinary technician not only because she has a deep love for animals, but also so that she can speak for those that can’t speak for themselves. She is a very hard working momma. She has a 2 year old child, 2 pups, a cat, and a beta fish. Her favorite ways to relax are hanging out by the water, watching corny love movies, and hanging out with her kiddo.
Brooke started off her veterinary medicine career at Navy Boulevard Animal Hospital in 2016. The experience inspired her to earn her degree in veterinary technology. She spent time traveling around the states before graduating at Apex College of Veterinary Technology in September of 2023 and earning her certification. She returned to Pensacola in April of 2024 and is happy to back at NBAH. In her spare time she enjoys camping, kayaking, hula hooping, and making music.
Amber was born in Tucson, Arizona, but has lived here in Pensacola since she was 9 years old. She joined this field after receiving her Certification as a Veterinary Assistant back in 2016 working with large and small animals. Since then, she has expanded her roles throughout our veterinary hospital. She is a team player and is quick to help wherever needed. She is a hard working mom with a passion for helping all animals. She has a 7 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. When she is not at work, you can find her spending time outdoors and doing crafts with her kids, her dog and two cats.
Grace is an integral part of our receptionist staff. She welcomes our clients as they come in the door with professionalism and a friendly smile. She answers the phones with her cheerful manner and is always available to our staff to help when needed.
Ro is a skilled groomer with 7 years of industry experience and a Petsmart Academy graduate. Ro's passion for pet care shines through in her dedicated approach. Beyond grooming, she finds joy in journaling, exploring new destinations through travel, and cherishing moments with family. Ro's diverse interests extend to competitive powerlifting, showcasing her strength, and serving as a weekend chef for yacht charters. With her varied skills and commitment to excellence, Ro is a valuable addition to our team.
Ren, joining in 2021, began as a Pet Resort Attendant showcasing a natural way with animals. As a devoted pet parent to her 3 dogs (Margo, Mila, and Maple) and her 2 cats (Mouse and Duckie), her passion translated into exceptional care. She later transitioned into a Receptionist role where now she welcomes pet owners with the same warmth she shares with her own pets.
I went to Jay High School and I plan on pursuing my education further to become a vet tech. I am from the beautiful sunshine state. I love to read and spend time with my family and be by the water. I have 3 dogs whose names are River, Mapel, and Charlie.
